Many of the families we see have been referred by another health professional; a midwife, IBCLC, maternal child health nurse or GP who felt Chiropractic care could be a useful part of their baby’s support plan. If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
We also see families who have found their own way here after weeks of trying to work out why their baby seems uncomfortable, unsettled or struggling to feed. Either way, we take the same thorough and considered approach.
Why practitioners refer to us
Chiropractic care for babies focuses on assessing and gently addressing tension in the spine, neck, jaw and surrounding tissues that can develop as a result of pregnancy positioning or the physical demands of birth. This tension can sometimes contribute to the challenges that other practitioners are already working to address; feeding difficulties, latch asymmetry, unsettledness and restricted head movement being among the most common.
When Chiropractic care is provided alongside the work of an IBCLC, midwife, oromyofunctional therapist or another provider, the outcomes for babies and families are often significantly better than with any single approach alone. We value these referral relationships and communicate back to referring practitioners where appropriate and with family consent.

Our approach
Care for babies is extremely gentle, techniques are adapted specifically for small bodies and involve very light and precise contact. There is no manipulation of the kind used for adults. Every appointment begins with a thorough history covering pregnancy, birth, feeding and development. We explain everything we find and everything we do and always work at a pace that feels comfortable for your baby and for you.
