Chiropractor for Sports Injuries, Sprains & Strains in Mount

Injuries are frustrating, especially the ones that keep coming back: a hamstring that never quite settles or a shoulder that flares up whenever you push it. They affect how you train and how you feel about training. Often there's more than one thing going on, such as a movement pattern, a compensation or a weakness somewhere along the chain. Understanding that is a big part of how we approach injuries at The Local Chiro.

Getting to the why

Treating the sore spot is only part of the picture. We want to understand why it happened and what it means for your movement going forward. We assess the whole body, not just the area that hurts, looking at joint movement, muscle function, loading patterns and your history. From there, we put together a plan that suits your injury, your sport and your goals.

What we help with

  • Shoulder pain such as rotator cuff injuries
  • Knee, hip and glute niggles
  • Rolled ankles and ligament sprains
  • Hamstring, calf and other muscle strains
  • Overuse injuries linked to training load
  • Back pain from lifting or sport

Getting back to what you love

We work with you on a realistic, structured return-to-activity plan, so you know where you stand and what to expect along the way. Whether your goal is weekend sport, a competitive season or moving through your day with less discomfort, we adjust the plan to fit.

How we treat

Care is hands-on and may include Chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue release, dry needling, active release technique (ART) or cupping, depending on what you need. You can read about each on our Our Approach page. Dr Belinda Small (B.Ex Sc, M.Chiro) has a background in Exercise Science and Personal training.

It’s not just for athletes

Sports injuries can affect anyone, not just those who consider themselves athletes. A rolled ankle stepping off a curb, a shoulder strain from lifting at work or a sore back after gardening on the weekend can all be looked at. If a sprain or strain is limiting how you move, it's worth getting checked, however it happened.
