Our Approach

Chiropractic Adjustments

Musculoskeletal Dry Needling

Musculoskeletal Dry Needling

Chiropractor performing a spinal adjustment on a patient

Chiropractic adjustments are used when clinically indicated to restore normal movement to restricted joints in the spine and body. Improving joint mobility can help reduce pain, ease muscle spasm and support healthy nerve function. Restoring movement also promotes healthy blood flow and nutrient exchange to the spinal discs and ligaments deep within the spine. When combined with other therapies Chiropractic adjustments form part of a comprehensive, holistic treatment approach.

Musculoskeletal Dry Needling

Dry needling treatment targeting muscle trigger points

Dry needling is a treatment used to relieve muscle pain and tension by targeting myofascial trigger points (tight, sensitive areas within a muscle). During treatment a sterile, fine needle (similar to an acupuncture needle) is inserted into the affected muscle to stimulate a brief “twitch response,” helping the muscle relax and reset. This process encourages improved blood flow to the area, supporting the body’s natural healing response and helping reduce pain and muscle tightness.

Active Release Technique

Musculoskeletal Dry Needling

Active Release Technique

Active release technique applied to soft tissue for muscle tension relief

Active Release Technique (ART) is a hands-on soft tissue therapy used to treat tight muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia that can contribute to pain, stiffness and reduced mobility. This technique involves applying specific pressure to affected tissues while guiding the body through controlled movements to help release tension, break up adhesions and improve tissue function. This is also great for nerve entrapments such as sciatica and sports injuries.

Fire Cupping

Activator Assisted Adjustments

Active Release Technique

Fire cupping therapy used to reduce muscle tension and improve circulation

Fire cupping is a myofascial decompression technique used to address soft tissue restriction and support musculoskeletal recovery.  A flame is briefly brought to a glass cup to remove oxygen and create negative pressure before the cup is applied to the skin. As the air cools a vacuum is formed, lifting the superficial fascia and underlying tissues. This negative pressure can help reduce myofascial adhesions, increase local blood perfusion and stimulate lymphatic flow. Myofascial fire cupping is commonly utilised to assist in the management of muscular tightness, soft tissue dysfunction and sports-related injuries.

Activator Assisted Adjustments

Activator Assisted Adjustments

Chiropractor using an activator instrument for gentle spinal adjustment

Activator assisted adjustments uses a specialised handheld instrument to deliver a precise, low-force mechanical impulse to the spine and other joints. This technique is commonly used as an alternative to a high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) manual adjustments for patients who prefer a gentler approach to care. The instrument allows the Chiropractor to apply a quick, controlled force to specific joints helping to restore joint motion and improve nervous system function. It is often well suited for children, older adults and individuals who may  prefer this style of treatment over traditional manual adjustments.

Craniosacral Therapy

Activator Assisted Adjustments

Activator Assisted Adjustments

Gentle craniosacral therapy treatment for nervous system support

Craniosacral therapy focuses on the relationship between the cranial bones, sacrum and the surround soft tissues.  Using light contact the practitioner assesses subtle movement within the craniosacral system and works to release areas of restriction. This approach aims to support nervous system function and overall musculoskeletal balance. Due to its gentle nature craniosacral therapy is suitable for people of all ages including infants and children.
